The NSW Department of Health has commissioned the Centre for Health Service Development to undertake a strategic review of Department of Health managed community health services in NSW. The review is looking for examples of good practice being used at the moment, and also for relevant literature or reports about community health practice and policy.
In 2004/05, there were 2.2 million clinical interventions in the public and private hospital system.
In the same period, there were 61 million clinical interventions provided in the community; 36.2 million were presentations to General Practitioners and 24.5 million were community-based services provided through the public health system.
